1. What are the main features/facilities of Tarang?
Tarang, as powerful monitoring tool for transmission sector in India, with the following features/facilities:

i. Details of Inter State/Intra State upcoming transmission systems. TRANSCOs can upload their NITs on Portal;
ii. Updated construction progress of Inter State/Intra State Transmission Systems in country;
iii. Status of transmission systems under bidding for selection of developer for ISTS through TBCB route;
iv. Details of transmission system completed during the year;
v. Option to generate various MIS reports;
vi. Detail of Green energy corridor.
2. Who is taking care of TARANG Website and who is responsible for Data updation in system?}
Keeping in view with the “Digital India “initiative of Govt. Of India “TARANG” (Transmission App for Real time monitoring & Growth) Mobile App & Web Portal has been developed by REC Transmission Projects Company limited (RECTPCL) under the overall guidance of Ministry of Power, Government of India. Ministry of Power has issued a detailed responsibility chartered clearly indicating scope of work/responsibility.
3. When data is uploaded on the system and how frequently data is uploaded in the system?
Monthly progress report are updated on 5th of the every month for the last month, however NITs/Bids can be uploaded any time on any interval.
4. What is Tariff based Competitive Bidding in transmission Projects?}
The bidding process contain two stages:

i. Request for Qualification (RFQ) &
ii. Request for proposal (RFP)
During RFQ stage the bidder required to submit their technical bid on bidding plate form online.

The RFP stage has three parts:
i. Non-financial,
ii. Financial bid (initial price offer) and
iii. Reverse Auction stage (final price offer).

Bidders are required to submit both non-financial and initial offer in electronic form. Initial price offer in the form of levelised Transmission charges of qualified bidders is ranked in the ascending order.Qualified bidders holding first 50% of the ranks or four qualified bidders, whichever is higher allowed to participate in the electronic reverse auction? In case of bidder between two to four, all can participate in electronic reverse auction.

The lowest levelised transmission charges derived from the initial offer is the applicable ceiling levelised transmission charges for the electronic reverse auction.

The bidders participating in the reverse auction shall submit Final Offer on the electronic bidding platform, which should be lower than 0.25% of the prevailing lowest levelised transmission charges.

Initially the window for the e-reverse bidding will be for 2 hours and with auto extension facility if fresh bid is received within the last 30 minutes before the completion of 2 hours.

In case of receipt of no bid within the 30 minutes before the completion of 2 hours the bidding window will be closed. Bidder with the lowest final price shall be declared Successful bidder.
5. What are system requirements for the web-portal and App?
Tarang web-portal is compatible with IE7 and above version. It works on all web browser like Mozilla fire fox, Chrome, Netscape, Opera, safari and Edge. Mobile App is available in App Store, Play Store and Windows Store and compatible with Android 5.0 and above, iOS 9.0 and above.
6. How state utility can upload their NITs/ Bid on this Platform?}
All state utilities have been communicated with unique UserID and password. They can login and upload their NITs/Bid on the website.
7. How state utility can be benefited by uploading their NITs/BID?
By uploading NITs/bid at Tarang platform, utility can take advantage to have larger participation in the bids, resulting in more competitive final offer.
8. Can private entity also upload their NITs/ BIDs on TARANG?}
You need to contact concerned authority for the user id and password.
9. What type of NITs, state utility can upload on TARANG, like voltage level, minimum cost, new or upgrading of system?
State utility can upload on TARANG NITs of voltage 132 KV and above. The upgrading of existing system as well as new transmission system (substations and lines), both, can be uploaded.
10. Can state utility upload NITs related to service like vehicle hiring, fencing, grass cutting etc. on site?}
No, only transmission projects of 132 KV &above, both substations and transmission lines to be uploaded in the website.
